    I’ve been getting questions regarding HTML code that shows in the post content when it’s spun.

    This is not a WP Spinner issue. It is caused by the WordPress Visual Editor when you type or paste HTML code into the post edit box.

    To fix it:

    In the WP Admin Panel, click on Users, Your Profile, uncheck the box next to “Use the visual editor when writing”, and click Update Profile.

    Eddy,

    Please download and install the latest version of the Optimal Title plugin from http://elasticdog.com/2004/09/optimal-title/

    I believe that will fix your problem.

    Q: How long does it take to prepare an article?

    A: It depends on the degree of variability that you want to build into the article. For normal blog posts and pages it takes me a few minutes. On the other hand, when I prepare an article to the hilt (usually for article directory submission) then it can take two to three hours. But, then I can spin hundreds of unique versions of the article with the click of a button. Be smart in how much time you put into an article, and focus more effort on those that will give you the greater benefit.

    When I copy this from your .pdf manual:

    {John [led|took] his [cat|pet squirrel|dog] to the park for [the entire
    afternoon|a leisurely walk].~Mary [truly|really] loves her [large|big]
    [black|brown] cat.}

    it turns out right. BUT…

    When I type this in my blog:

    {Good [day|morning|gracious|dogs|]}

    I see: {Good dogs}, not Good dogs!

    I experimented with this several times, and it just doesn’t work.

    Please advise what to do!

  6. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    Robberto,

    You have alternate options inside the [] pairs (second level). But, you don’t have alternate options inside the {} pair (first level).

    Try {Good [day|morning|gracious|dogs|]~Hello} and you’ll see it will work. The “~” specifies the alternate options at the first level.

    Also, in your example, you have [day|morning|gracious|dogs|]. Notice the “|]” at the end? You’ve specified an empty option. So, one of the spins of that text will give you just “Good” (when WP Spinner picks the empty option).

    If WP Spinner does not find alternate options inside {} or [] it assumes those characters are part of the standard text and prints them in the usual way.

    Dewald,

    Thanks for your quick reply!

    You’re right, now it works. I understand better now.

    I guess it needs some practice, and when you really get the routine, you can write articles/blogs that way quite quickly.

    Really nice! I see many applications. Commercial, but also funny. You could write stories or poetry that change all the time. If you include varying links, you could create a whole online novel that “lives” and is full of surprises - even for the author…

    Great work! I wrote something about it in dealdotcom.

    Just purchased your wordpress article spinner and it’s working very well. I have a question. I need to submit the spun articles to web 2.0 properties. Is there any place to see, for example, a list of 20 versions of the spun article rather than having to preview an article 20 times and then having to copy and paste each spun article individually?

    Looks like a really useful product. Thanks for your help.

  9. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    @Erichar11,

    Unfortunately it’s currently not possible to simultaneously view multiple versions of the spun article.

    However, it’s functionality that I’ll keep in mind for a future release.

  10. Erichar11 Says:

    Great thanks, in addition it would be also helpful to see some basic statistics such as number of words and the percentage changed to get an idea of what the difference is from the original article.

  11. Mary Williams Says:

    Hi,

    I love the WP Spinner it is definitely solving the biggest problem I had regarding new content.

    Here my problem, I set my title to spin as such, [New|Latest] Cheap Airfare [Tips|Secrets] [Revealed|Unveiled], in the slug post area it’s newlatest-cheap-airfare-tipssecrets-revealedunveiled. My concerns
    are how will this fair SEO wise? Is there something else I should do?

    Thanks

  12. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    Mary,

    If I were you I wouldn’t accept the default slug that WordPress creates. When you write the post, type a slug into the appropriate box in the right sidebar. For the sample you mentioned, I would have typed cheap-airfare-secrets as a slug.

    It wouldn’t hurt to leave it as is. However, since a title can be very long when you set it to spin, it’s better to manually provide a shorter and more meaningful slug.

  13. Erichar11 Says:

    Dewald,

    You mention on your home page the following:

    “Publish unique articles in different article directories and on different Web 2.0 properties, with each site receiving its own unique copy of the article”.

    As I mentioned in a previous post here, I need the spun articles for web 2.0 properties but can’t really find a good way(or efficient way) to do this. I can obviously hit the refresh button to get a new version and then cut and paste but there are formatting issues I always have to correct. Was wondering if you had any suggestions, tips on how to quickly and easily create unique articles to be published on web 2.0 properties. Thanks for a great product.

  14. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    @Erichar11,

    Hitting the refresh button and copy & paste is the way I do mine. What kind of formatting issues are you running into?

    A way you can get multiple versions (20 for example) of the same article at the same time is to set up a private blog that you dedicate to spinning tasks. You’d then set the WP Read option to display at least 20 posts on the home page.

    Then, create 20 new posts with the same spin-prepared article. When you then view the home page, you will have 20 different spun versions of the same article to copy & paste into Web 2.0 properties.

    Hope that helps.

  15. Erichar11 Says:

    Dewald,

    re: the formatting issues, it’s nothing that your software is doing. I just have style sheets, links and things in post and often I want to take them out (i.e. reformat the page for a web 2.0 property)

    re: multiple versions of the same article, setting up a private blog that is dedicated to spinning tasks may be a possible solution. I don’t think you can use plugins like this one on wordpress.com (free blog site) or can you?

    hmm, I’m wondering if I can currently do something similar on an existing site with wpspinner? Have to think about this a bit. Thanks.

  16. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    @Erichar11,

    Create a new subdomain on one of your existing domains, install WordPress on the new subdomain, and use that as your private spinner blog.

  17. Erichar11 Says:

    Dewald,

    I understand about setting up a sub domain on a site I have for article spinning. That’s exactly what I was thinking. My issue was more in terms of how to setup the blog such that I can show 20 posts (spun articles) for each of the articles I’m spinning. So for example, I have 10 articles that need to be spun 20 times each. I was thinking of using categories or something(for each article) but that may not be the best solution.

    I think your suggested solution is workable though

  18. Erichar11 Says:

    Hi Dewald,

    Finally setup a subdomain with wordpress and wpsinner. It’s working pretty good. Also installed a plugin called duplicate post which makes it simple to copy a post. So once I have a spinned article, I can then hit a button to duplicate the post, very cool.

    My question is I setup wp spinner to initially to do random rotation. So, I create 5 posts with the same spun article, and I see five different versions. Nice! However, I wanted the same 5 spun articles versions to show up (for a 24 hour period) so I thought I would try controlled rotation. When I tried this, the same exact article showed up on all five posts.

    Is there a way to create a spun article, duplicate it on 5 posts, and get five different versions while having the five versions stay the same for a period of 24 hours? I hope this makes sense.

  19. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    @Erichar11,

    I understand what you want to do, but I don’t think that’s possible with 5 identical posts. Copies of the same post will give identical spun versions with controlled rotation. Don’t think I have a ready answer for you this time. :)

  20. Erichar11 Says:

    No problem, I think the random rotation works well enough. If you ever want to see how I’m using your product, let me know. I’m still in the testing phase, but everything is working good. Maybe I get some thought from you re: how to improve my setup.

  21. Kerry Says:

    Hey Dewald,

    Just installed WP Spinner. In the manual, it talks about understanding Delimiters. Level One Delimiters, it talks about “Option separator”. I looked all over the Mac keyboard and cannot find that funny little “tilde character”. Any tips?

    Cheers!
    Kerry

  22. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    Kerry,

    The tilde character is usually located to the left of the “1″ on the top row of the keyboard keys.

  23. Kerry Says:

    ahhhhhhh very good!! I need to look harder next time!!

    Thanks!
    Kerry

  24. Kerry Says:

    Hey Dewald,

    Just trying out WP spinner on one of my blogs. Working nicely! Still learning how to use it though. At this stage, I might not need WCW or Content Composer. All I have to do is to spin the articles and copy it onto a text doc….

    Cheers!

  25. Erichar11 Says:

    Dewald,

    I’ve been having a lot of fun with WP spinner. I noticed that you had a similar product called php spinner. I would like to test php spinner out. But I have a question. With WP spinner, the articles you spin are served from a WP database, with PHP spinner, does one add a database where content can be spinned? Not sure I understand how it works from a tech perspective. I have got content on a php page outside of wordpress that I would like to spin. Thanks for your help.

  26. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    Erichar11,

    PHP Spinner does not read articles from a database. You have to already have the article text in a PHP variable in your PHP program and then pass that text through PHP Spinner’s spinning function before displaying it to the visitor.

  27. Erichar11 Says:

    Is it possible to test the php Spinner out? Just not sure how it would work. I love WP spinner, there is just so much I can do with it. Please send me an email to discuss.

  28. Erichar11 Says:

    Does wp spinner work with v2.3.3 of wordpress? I’m about to upgrade to the latest version of wordpress. Just checking.

  29. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    Erichar11,

    Yes, WP Spinner is compatible with WordPress v2.3.3.

  30. Dewald Pretorius Says:

    WP Spinner is compatible with WordPress version 2.5.

  31. wayne Says:

  32. Tavis Says:
